How to give Delegate access to your Emails & calendars in Office 365: Delegate Access goes beyond just sharing access to your folders. Delegates are granted additional permissions, like creating email messages or responding to meeting requests on your behalf. As the person granting permission, you determine the level of access that the delegate has to your folders. You can grant a delegate permission to read items in your folders or to read items in your folders or to read, create, change and delete items. By default, when you add a delegate, the delegate has full access to your Calendar and Tasks folders. The delegate can also respond to meeting requests on your behalf.

How to give Delegate access to your Emails & calendars in Office 365: As an administrator, you can choose to delegate rights to access a shared mailbox or a user’s mailbox and calendar features.

  • First of all, log on to Microsoft Office 365 admin center as an administrator.
  • Click ‘users and groups’ choose the user you want to delegate access to and click Edit.
  • Click the mailboxes tab or the shared tab, depending on the type of mailbox you want to share.
  • On the mailbox Delegation window you have three permission available: Send As,’ Send on Behalf’ and Full Access.
  • Now click ‘Add’ to assign the permissions.
  • Search for the user you want to delegate access.
  • Click ‘Add’ and then click ‘OK’.
  • As a user, you can delegate access to your own mailbox. Steps will differ depending on the version of outlook being used. Here are the steps for outlook 2010.
  • Open outlook 2010.
  • Then click file, Account Settings, Delegate Access.
  • Select the user and permissions and click OK.
